Privacy Policy & POPIA Notice

Last updated: February 2026

1. Who we are

DG Accountants Inc (“we”, “us”) is an accounting and tax practice based at 5 Second Road, Hyde Park, Johannesburg, 2192. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice. ACCA registration 0912849.

2. What information we collect

Contact details you submit to us (name, email address, telephone number and company name), the content of your enquiry, and any information you later provide so that we can perform accounting or tax work for you.

Where we act for you, this may include identity numbers, tax reference numbers, financial records, payroll data and banking details — collected only to the extent needed for the engagement and for our statutory obligations.

3. Why we process it

To respond to your enquiry; to provide accounting, tax and compliance services; to submit returns and correspond with SARS and CIPC on your behalf; to comply with FICA, the Tax Administration Act and our professional obligations; and to keep records required by law.

4. Lawful basis and consent

We process personal information where it is necessary to perform our engagement with you, to comply with a legal obligation, or with your consent. Submitting the contact form on this website constitutes your consent for us to contact you about your enquiry. You may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing us.

5. Who we share it with

We share information only where necessary: with SARS, CIPC and other regulators as part of your engagement; with service providers who host our systems under confidentiality obligations; and where we are compelled by law. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party marketing.

6. Security and retention

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including access controls and encrypted transmission, to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. Records are retained for the periods required by the Companies Act, the Tax Administration Act and our professional standards — generally five years after the end of the relevant tax period — and are then deleted or de-identified.

7. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted where we are not required to keep it, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

8. Contact us about privacy

Privacy queries and access requests: info@mydgaccountants.co.za or 087 265 8065. We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.
